The Client
The International Humanitarian City (IHC) is a UAE government initiative and the world's largest humanitarian hub. It facilitates the distribution of emergency relief by hosting major UN agencies and international NGOs, acting as the primary logistics engine for global disaster response.
The Challenge
IHC required a digital platform that matched its physical scale: one that could handle high-stakes communication, represent a diverse group of global stakeholders across the UN, NGOs and government, and provide a clear experience for international donors and partners.
It also had to stay easy for the IHC team to manage during time-sensitive crises, when waiting on a developer is not an option.
What We Built
A bespoke content management system rather than a generic template, so the IHC team could update critical information, news alerts and member data directly, without technical help.
The interface was built as a high-authority portal: fast to load in regions with limited connectivity, with dedicated modules showcasing the work of member organisations.
Given IHC's status as a government initiative, the build included security protocols appropriate to sensitive data and public-facing crisis communication.
